Session One: Weeks 1-2
WEEK 1: The first week of camp will be spent dissecting scripts and drafting/designing costumes, props, and set pieces. Students interested in set design will build a stage model and work on designs for either Aladdin KIDS, Madagascar JR, or You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown. Students interested in costume design will learn how to sketch their ideas and work an a piece for Madagascar JR. Crafters will learn how to create a prop list and spreadsheet for either Aladdin KIDS or Madagascar JR, and begin to design, build, and source props.
WEEK 2: Week 2 students will be building set pieces for all shows, finishing Aladdin KIDS props.
Session Two: Weeks 3-5
WEEK 3: Week 3 is tech week and performances for Aladdin KIDS, so all sets must be completed and installed. Props for Madagascar JR must be completed this week. Building begins for Madagascar JR costume pieces!
WEEK 4: During week 4, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown moves into the theater, and any set pieces will need to be installed and completed. Further work on Madagascar JR costumes and sets will continue.
WEEK 5: During week 5, Madagascar JR moves into the theater, and the sets are installed and completed. Costume designs must be completed and fitted this week.
