Kindness IS the answer

Thank you all for your warm welcome as I step into Barb’s diminutive (yet HUGE!) shoes. I was fortunate to find this company 13 years ago when my oldest joined a school production directed by Barb & Katie. They welcomed us with open arms, and I was thrilled to rekindle my life-long passion for theatre.

Please join me in expressing my gratitude to both Barb Galiotto, Executive Director Emeritus, and Sara Tavernise, our intrepid Interim Executive Director, for all of the heart and soul they poured into our community through their leadership. I also want to thank our resilient and thoughtful Board of Directors for their unflagging steerage through the choppy waters of the last 2.5 years. While California lost over 100,000 Performing Arts jobs since March of 2020, PPP is highly fortunate to remain fully staffed. This is a direct result of our team’s tenacity, united with a clear vision and a ton of hard work!

I wholeheartedly believe in our calling to create a welcoming space for people— space to experience live theatre, to rehearse, learn, and perform with family and friends, and to grow joyfully through play. I am honored to lead Playful People Productions as we flourish into a new normal.

I look forward to sharing this journey with you all, and commit to guiding our company with a deep respect for the path we have travelled together. One thing is clear to me: Kindness IS the answer. The world needs more of what we do best: Positive, Inclusive, Family Theater.
